Combining styles - The struggle of a change

I am currently going trough a very interesting phase when it comes to my style and looks. Let me tell you a bit more.

For the last 6 months or so I've been dreaming about more plain, maybe more natural and a bit more classy style. The thing is that I LOVE urban style and feed from it, but when it comes to the women I look up to and their looks it's not just Rihanna that inspires me but also some of the most natural beauties of the world, like Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron. I'd die for their looks.

I've always considered myself to be NOT the classiest, prettiest and sexiest type, and have therefore naturally grew my style to the opposite direction. If you know me, I really fight against the sexy type of looks but also I'm the least inspired by those really plain styles. Now the things is that I have been naturally starting to like more of those simple looks, in addition of the edgy street style. When a change is natural I think it will work out fine eventually, but I do struggle combining these two at the moment.

"I've always considered myself to be NOT the classiest, prettiest and sexiest type, and have therefore naturally grew my style to the opposite direction."

For the first time in maybe 12 years I have bought myself some of those BASIC CLOTHES. I am now a proud owner of a classy dress shirt, two plain tops, a plain tee shirt, a black leather belt and wait for it.... a freakin handbag. I have not had a handbag for ten years, I am always carrying backpacks or big weekend bags, so this is the funniest thing for me ever! ( I even had to google how to type handbag for this post, that's how funny this is.)

When I was in town yesterday with my handbag I realized I must be feeling like dude who's been forced to wear high heels and actually wear them outside. So unnatural state for me, but like I said, I bet I'll eventually get used to it.

I even went shopping in stores I never set my foot to, like Vero Moda, Stockmann, Mango and even Aleksi 13 (finnish girls know what Aleksi 3 is and might undestrand the irony). And this isn't just about stepping outside of my comfort zone but more like a totally different world that I have stayed away from - deliberately.

With all of this being said I can tell you that you will witness a style change in the near future, but I will try to figure out how to combine my love for urban street fashion and growing up. Haha. You can take the girl out of the street but you can not get the street out of her, and that's a promise.

Oh, and one more thing! I now have the new Huawei Honor 9 and am loving it, I will be posting more about it later!

Stay tuned and feed the fire! / Eeva
